Mechanism

The Plasma Pen MEDICAL extension is simply screwed on the body of the JETT PLASMA LIFT device (instead of the applicator), which then remains left on the stand and treatment is performed with the Plasma Pen extension only.

Manual Plasma Pen control for simple use and mobility. Moreover, we have installed a green diode in the extension signalling the discharge, which may not be visible with the naked eye.

The JETT PLASMA LIFT MEDICAL device generates a sequence of spark discharges using the DC voltage. Spark discharges generate heat that warms the skin. It is a DC fulguration which, compared to AC fulguration, affects a smaller area of ​​the skin, is very accurate and the DC discharge does not damage the surrounding tissues.

The plasma discharge with a corona at the edge is generated between the tip of the device and the conductively connected skin of the patient (to the device), with the tip distance of 2 mm above the skin. The air, which contains free electrons in the point of the discharge, gains a high energy, which leads to the breakdown of the air, which ceases to be the insulator and starts to conduct electric current (a discharge is generated). This leads to ionization of the air, which thus becomes a plasma.

Usages for Plasma Pen Medical

Dermatology

Thought the Plasma Pen extension has been developed for ophthalmology, it is also widely used in dermatology and aesthetic medicine. Low weight and ergonomic shaping is its indisputable advantage. The procedures are much easier and more convenient to perform by the doctors.

Thanks to the silver applicators, a trained doctor or nurse can perform non-ablative treatment. Shallow and deep wrinkles, dilated veins, spider nevi, acne and age and pigment spots are treated very easily.

Compared to the facts above, with the golden applicator, the doctor can treat even very deep wrinkles, acne, trauma and surgery scars, minor warts, haemangiomas (benign mesenchymal blood vessel tumours) and minor venectasia, unwanted skin formations (fibromas), and stop minor capillary bleeding.

All indications, the JETT PLASMA LIFT MEDICAL device alike, can be treated with the Plasma Pen extension:

• Benign vascular lesions - angioma (haemangioma, naevus capillaris), teleangiectasia
• Skin lesions – keratosis (verruca seborrhoica, keratosis seborrhoica), keratoacanthoma, fibroma, xanthelasma

Ophthalmology

The Plasma Pen extension allows ophthalmic procedures to be performed comfortably and accurately. In ophthalmology, we have managed to develop a breakthrough method for treatment of blepharitis.

Contradictions

When using the Plasma Pen extension, electrical current flows through the client, and therefore it is necessary to make sure that the following contraindications do not apply to the client:

• Pacemaker, Holter ECG meter
• Other implanted electrical device
• Epilepsy
• Pregnancy
• Metal implants in the treated area
• Skin diseases, skin inflammations
• Acute inflammatory disease
• Any untreated/badly treated disease
• Oncological disease
• Allergy to local anaesthetics
• Allergy to disinfectants
